OWC announces the release of the OWC Thunderbolt 3 Dual Display Adapters, in DisplayPort and HDMI configurations. The new adapters are part of a family of Thunderbolt 3-integrated products that OWC will display at CES in Las Vegas in January.

More screens mean greater productivity and smoother workflow, and OWC’s adapters allow users to connect their displays to function best for them. With OWC’s Thunderbolt 3 Dual DisplayPort Adapters, connect two UHD displays with added audio support to any Thunderbolt 3 equipped computer. Connect two DisplayPort 4K displays @60Hz, or one 5K display @60Hz via the DisplayPort model or two HDMI 4K displays @60Hz via the HDMI model. Both adapters are bus powered and come with an integrated Thunderbolt 3 cable. OWC makes it easy for users to massively increase screen real estate.

The captive cable means this adapter can’t be used with a Thunderbolt 2 Mac and a Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter because it also has a captive cable. A workaround is to also use a Thunderbolt 3 device with two Thunderbolt 3 ports. With Thunderbolt 2, this adapter can connect one 4K 60 Hz display or two 2560×1600 60 Hz displays.
